A Great Vacation

After my last post, I headed to Colorado to visit friends, and deliver some pictures. For once, on the way there I got some great weather and made a couple of stops on the way.

Big Basin, a mile-wide sink hole.

The Gypsum Hills in south central Kansas is an area that is very rugged and broken. Very few roads cross through this area. At the western edge of the Gypsum Hills lies the Big Basin Preserve, containing some large sink holes and a perpetual water source. I will make another post specifically for Big Basin Preserve.

Little Basin, a quarter-mile wide sink hole. The high point with the Living Water Monument is about a half-mile away.

The Camp Amache memorial is just west of Granada in Eastern Colorado. This was a Japanese Internment Camp during World War II, with about 10,000 residents. It is shocking to actually see the conditions and the scope of this operation. No one should be treated like this. There will be more on this soon.

This is the layout of the camp.

On Sunday I got to spend time with my favorite people, and celebrate Mother’s Day. I was able to deliver and hang three pictures that I had taken last year that happen to be a scene she had been looking for! I am happy about that, and I do believe Prudy is happy with her pictures!

If there is anything better than a happy customer, it is having it be one of your best friends!
