First Day Of Winter

A sparrow sitting in my tree.

Just a few pictures from the last couple days. Some sparrows hanging around my yard, and a few pictures from Slate Creek Wetlands.

After the summer birds left in August, there has been almost no activity around my feeder. This week I finally started seeing some birds show up again.

Driving towards Slate Creek Wetlands there were many flocks of birds to be seen.

At Slate Creek Wetlands, an abandoned nest hangs from a tree. Probably not more than the size of my fist. Some fine work by one of our feathered friends, and withstood the onslaught of wind last week.

At Slate Creek Wetlands, a pair of Northern Harriers were busy hunting.

At Slate Creek Wetlands, I think this is the tree I captured at sunrise a couple years ago.

At Slate Creek Wetlands a couple years ago at shortly after dawn on a summer day.
