Hargis Eagles 2

Just about to grab a fish.

This is the second installment of the pictures I took at Hargis Creek Watershed in Wellington. It will take a few posts to get through all of them.

Yesterday I showed a sequence of a fish getting ripped apart while being caught. I got a second misfire as well. Today’s post starts off with the sequence. This fish looked to be in one piece, but hard to say if it lived through the experience. Without a doubt it had a story to tell the other fish.

The strike has been made and you can see the fish.

Hey look, it’s a flying fish.

As the eagle flies on, the fish drops back down.

Talk about a rough morning.

Circling in front of the water tower.

A flyby on the way to a landing.

Eagle One you are cleared for landing.

Landing successful.

Someone did catch the fish.

Beautiful bird.

Not seeing prey the first time around, this eagle circled and started another run.

A nice banking turn in the sun.

A dark eyed junco keeping an eye on me.

A very red eye.
