First Show Done
Yesterday was my very first show for my photography. The Wheat Festival Art and Craft Show was held as part of the overall Wheat Festival, and since it was right here in town it made sense to set that as a goal for my first display set up. I had a great time, worked hard, got lots of great compliments on my work and made a few sales. Mission accomplished.
Since this was my very first time out I really had no idea what kind of sales volume to expect. I had set what I thought would be a minimum number of transactions, and then figured what the low amount might be if they were all the smallest item to a maximum amount if they were all the most expensive. I missed the transaction number by 75%, but was spot on with what I though minimum might be. When all is said and done, I am pleased.
Now the question is what is next? I could jump right in and do a flea market next weekend that should offer some decent foot traffic. I still have most of my inventory from the last show, so it is possible to go ahead and do it. I would not be able to get any additional pieces ordered and on site beforehand and I really want to get a wider variety of pictures on display. I think maybe just getting out and getting some additional experience might be the best thing though. I will announce decision later this week.
