Some Of My New Neighbors

My last post was about the new neighbors we are all getting as the birds return to their summer homes. As spring is rapidly unfolding here there are lots of other things that are moving about. The air is again filled with insects going about their jobs. The ground is covered in a myriad of little crawling things. For a guy with a macro lens on his camera, life is good.

Walking through my back door, I saw this jumping spider on the window, and of course I had to take some pictures! I’ve noticed this critter for the last few days. It is usually on the window or the door jam. I kind of like the shot of its web attached. Yesterday it was right on the door latch and as I started to walk through the door it demonstrated its web spinning skill by diving off the latch and rappelling its way to the bottom. Fast moving little thing.

An hour or so after the spider’s portrait sitting, my next client came in. This wasp was buzzing around on the kitchen window.

This guy was being much more cooperative in doing different poses. I have several plants on the kitchen windowsill and the wasp buzzed around and on them to give different shots.

Later in the day I took a walk, and found this bumblebee that was feeding on the flowers. It is so nice to see critters and green things outside again! I love spring.
